05 Aug 2011   #11

Did a Full scan with mbam in safe mode with networking. No Malwares detected. Mbam log file attached..

Any other possible causes?

I would like to identify that file, before continuing. I'll see about having another bsod reader look over your file, sometimes a second pair of eyes will see something new.

Okay talked to someone else, and he believes it's possible dynamic naming was used with that driver, so it may not be a problem.
...or it could be.
Do you have daemon tools or alcohol 120% installed on your system?

Good morning,

Yes I do have a copy of daemon tools lite installed since quite a while ago. Probably over a year ago if I remember correctly.

I'm currently running memtest86. It is on pass 6 with 0 errors.

Memtest86 passed 8rounds with no errors.

It seems the situation is worsening. I was on WoW earlier and it suddenly shutdown byitself, then windows explorer seemed to shutdown, I could still see the background but the start tab and desktop items disappeared, also mse gave a warning that it was shutdown. I had to hard shutdown and reboot.

I'm thinking maybe the graphics card may be failing but not certain. Also the event described above was not a bsod so there isn't even a minidump file to post.

Any insight?

Oh also I just restored to about 2 weeks poor to the first bsod. Maybe it's something that was installed on the system that is causing errors. Will keep updated

Daemon tools is a known problem causer in win 7. So much so I have a canned response for it.

Start off by removing Dameon Tools/Alcohol 120%. Its driver, SPTD, is known to cause BSODs. Once the program is removed run the SPTD removal tool. DuplexSecure - Downloads

Win 8 Release candidate 8400

I second what my colleague Maguscreed suggests. Daemon is a demon.

So far since I restored to a prior point it seems stable. I will try a OS recovery to have a clean reinstall if the BSOD does come back.

Just had a BSOD again while my GF was checking her hotmail. Attaching the minidump and relevant info. Would appreciate if someone could check it out when able.

Im considering doing a OS recovery tomorrow. Seems to be some OS stability issues because I had no problems last night or today, BSOD seems to occur randomly.

As the title states, my recent functionality is borked. My recent places or recent items will go from being blank to containing a few items and then !poof! they're gone. Not sure what triggers the spontaneous purge but I'd like to fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks. OOPS, sorry, just realized...

Recent Items showing first 15 rather than most recent 10
Suddenly the Recent Items list accessible from the Start menu is showing the first 15 items in some large alphabetical list of items accessed in the past. Previously it had been showing the most recent (I'm sure) 10 (I think) in alphabetical order, which is the way I understand it's intended to...

Excel Recent Document not opening from Recent Documents
When I go to the top left "Office Button" in Excel and go to my Recent Documents I can open most files, but there's one which does not open. I can open it by going to Open and finding it in my folders or directly from my Windows Explorer files, so the file is not a problem. I've tried opening it...

How to display recent folders in recent items
I found that on the C:\Users\user1\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent folder, there are also the recent folder locations (aside from the recent files).
