    Windows Explorer is not responding

    Whenever I right click on a photo in Pictures or on any desktop shortcut the message appears 'Windows Explorer has stopped working. W is checking for a solution' and a few seconds the pictures folder etc closes.

    Good Morning {my time} matata,

    * Browse through the Tutorial in the link below to see if it is of any help with your current problem.{s}

    Troubleshooting Explorer.exe Crashing Issues

    * You could also check in Event Viewer
    Type eventvwr in search > go to the windows log > application tab.
    Look for things like app hang, app crash, or anything related with a red mark.
    Let us know the Event ID and source code.

    Good Evening JMH.
    I started by trying the MS site but one procedure involved right clicking which of course shut down MS Explorer which was the subject of my problem!! I then followed your advice and opened Event Viewer. There were many entries which had a red mark alongside. The one which occurred most was Lavasoft (ID-0) so before getting back to you I deleted Lavasoft. Bingo! the trouble seems to have been fixed. Thanks for your advice.
    Love Australia; been on three holidays there, the latest was in February 2010. Travelled to many places and Sydney is our favourite city.
    Kind Regards
    Gordon Crossman (matata)

    My wife broke the news to me yesterday that she fancies a flight next Jan/Feb to Cairns/Darwin/Sydney (visited all 3 before).
    Thanks again for your help - at the moment no error messages.

    I smile at the proposed holiday...
    Tell your wife you will take her to West Australia - IMHO far better than the East Coast.
    Incidentally tis very humid in Cairns / Darwin at that time of the year. Tis also the 'Wet' / cyclone season.

    Great to hear that all is well there with the computer. Long may that continue.
