    BSOD... My Laptop keeps crashing.

Basically, my laptop keeps crashing. It crashes more than 3 times a day and I lose ALL of the data that I'm currently working on and I dont know how to prevent this!

    Is Windows 7 . . .
    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? - x86 (32-bit)
    - the original installed OS on the system? Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
    - an OEM or full retail version? full retail version

I tried to follow the guide but if theres any more info you need just tell me and I'll try to see how I can retrieve it... I'm a 15-year-old girl with about zero-knowledge about computers!

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Eni95, welcome to SF!

We'll take it step by step and try to keep it as simple as possible. You have a system that will have a hard time working on W7. Main issue there is RAM size. 1Gb is possible on a W7 32B system if you keep stuff "small" .
Can you give us some history on this PC? Did you buy it for W7 or did it run something else first, like XP?
Let's do a scan first to be sure this pc can handle W7: Se the blue tab with a scan here: Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windows

After that you really need to update windows, the earlier updates have crashed..
Please go to your Maintenance Center and check the Windows Update status. Make sure you are up to date, do them one by one manually if needed.

Hello! Thank you for the welcome :)

I bought it and it was running on Windows Vista Home Premium and I recently upgraded to Windows 7. I've done the scan and it has said that Windows 7 can operate on my computer.
I've reset the updates and now I'm installing updates... however, before I started resetting the updates, I noticed that a lot of them have failed... is that a problem?
Should the problem be solved afterwards?

Thank you for your help :)

They should all run and finish... some times you just need to let then run one by one. But in the end they should all run, at least, the "important" ones. Optional is not mandatory.

My pleasure! Hope it stays stable. I don't know if you need to put a lot of new stuff on this system...Be sure to try things one at a time... So you'll know what the last change was IF it should crash again. A lot of people don't have the patience for this but it often helps to diagnose if, one step at a time, you prove its stable before doing the next thing....

It has crashed twice now in the last ten minutes... I really have no idea what's wrong.
