Windows 7: BSOD after resuming from hibernation.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
BSOD after resuming from hibernation.

So I've been having recurring instances where my laptop would BSOD about 10-20 minutes after I resume it from hibernation (not sleep). The "System" process uses up a core (25% total CPU usage) the entire time before it BSODs. During this time, my USB ports are nonfunctional. In the end, I have to either force reboot or wait until it BSODs and reboots itself. I've also tried isolating the process causing "System" to hang, and found that it had to do with a USB process and hal.dll. I had no idea where to go after that.

I've only had this laptop for about 3 weeks, but wanted to clean install my own Win 7 Ultimate 64bit.

One last thing to mention is that the only USB device attached is the receiver dongle for my Logitech wireless mouse.

Thanks for the help.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

Hello hkai1015,
Please follow this troubleshooting steps:
1. Unplug and uninstall Wireless USB Mouse driver. (use a Wired one for testing)
2. Uninstall intelcoreseries24 gadget (WinRing0x64.sys)
3. Update Tppwr64v.sys (Levono Power Manager Driver).
It's very important since it can control power from Hibernating mode.
Lenovo Support - Download Drivers and Software (US)
4. Also update this driver:
psadd.sys Mon Feb 19 10:56:37 2007 → Lenovo Parties Service Access Device Driver (SMBIOS)
After that try to hibernate again and let us know the result.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I've uninstalled and updated everything you asked, and it seems that everything's all fixed up now. =) I'll backtrack my steps and see which specific item was the cause of all this.

Thank you for all the help. It saved me from going crazy and reinstalling my entire OS.

It seems as if Lenovo's Power Manager was causing problems. My system's running smoothly now, even with my wireless mouse and the intelcore gadget back. Thanks again!
