BSOD while playing Minecraft
Hello SevenForums,
I put Minecraft on a clean install of Windows 7 Professional x64 and proceeded to fire it up for a bit of fun. The game ran for about a minute and froze up, the screen had red "squiggly" lines about it for about 15-20 seconds then it moved to BSOD stating something about a video driver. I checked to ensure I had the latest drivers for my vid card (which I didn't at the time) and updated it. The same thing happened after firing it up again, it lasted about a minute and crashed in the same manor. I will admit that I'm not a professional myself when it comes to drivers, so perhaps I updated it wrong (didn't remove the previous version properly before updating) or perhaps I didn't do something else?
Anyway, system specs:
As stated OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 build 7600 - only OS on this drive ever and is the full retail version.
CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor 2.6GHz
Motherboard: MSI 785GT-E63
Memory: 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda
...Really don't know if this is overkill or not, but there it is. This system (to me) is older than I would like to be running but the motherboard had to be replaced a few months back (why I'm stuck with the MSI board) as the old one killed over on me.
I have attached the BSOD information I got from Windows NT6 BSOD and perfmon /report information to this post.
Thanks in advance for any insight to this problem,
Gorgatron
