Asus Laptop (Win 7 Pro) Getting BSOD Constantly
x64, original OS, OEM, age of PC: 3-4 months, age of OS installation: 2+ weeks
I've been getting the "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" BSOD followed by restarting almost nonstop the past couple weeks since I bought the laptop
(used) a couple weeks ago. It started to happen more and more, but after downloading some Windows updates it went away for about a week up until earlier this week, went it started going crazy on me. As of today, it's been doing it less and less (actually hasn't done it yet tonight).
I realized that when I closed a lot of my Firefox tabs and only had several running instead of the 10-12 I usually have up it seems to crash less if at all, even when playing video. I thought for sure it was the RAM, but earlier I ran Memtest-86 4.0 and it came out with no problems. After that I ran Core Temp and there didn't seem to be any issues with overheating, even when I opened up a bunch of Firefox tabs and played a video on iTunes simultaneously.
Here's what I've tried so far with no solution: system restore, installing updates, the Windows fix (from Error message on a blue screen on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2: "STOP: 0x0000000A", which I couldn't even get to install because once unzipped the file is nowhere to be found), updated the video card drivers, updated the sound card drivers, tested the memory, and tested the CPU temperatures. I checked the Asus website to to try find an update for the BIOS but there's only been one very minor update that was released almost 2 years ago. I took a screenshot of the Event Viewer which shows all the times it's crashed. I can't for the life of me think of anything I did differently between 8/10-8/14 when it didn't crash once. I have no idea what it could be at this point.
