BSOD when PC idle

Hi Guys
After a calm year my system has BSOD a couple of times in the last three weeks.

Unfortunately I wasn't at my desk when it went today and only saw it as it switched off so I couldn't get the error ref. I'm not sure if you can help at this stage but I do attach a zip containing my OS details, minidump folder and Health check HTML as asked in posting instructions. Is that enough to help with any advice or do I need to catch the next BSOD event for the error ref and repost?

Hello,

No need to catch the BSOD in the act; all data can be collected after the fact. In fact, all the info we use is found in the jcgriff2 report you uploaded.

Start by installing SP1: Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Next, flash the F13 BIOS from here: GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 1366 - GA-EX58-UD4P (rev. 1.0)

Many thanks, Jonathan; I'll try the links you gave. A separate problem I'm trying to solve in other threads/ forums is my PC's problem installing SP1 (i.e. it won't...)

Hi Jonathan
I downloaded Driver Agent and found there's several that Windows Driver Update says are up to date but DA says aren't.

I've been manually updating these drivers (as I don't trust DA) but I can't find the Braodcom driver you first mentioned. In my device manager my network adapters are either RealTek or Cisco. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Unfortunately so far none of my upgrades have worked and I'm getting worried the BSOD is deeper than a driver replacement

Not sure what Broadcom driver I mentioned, honestly. Where did you see that?

Have you flashed the BIOS and run the 3 Prime95 tests yet? If so, and BSODs continue, upload a new jcgriff2 report: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

Hi Jonathan. Thanks. I'm not sure what a flashing the BIOS is but I'll try it. Re your message it appeared in the attached mail but on looking I can't see it on the board!? Strange.

I do remember posting something and then deleting it because it was the wrong person's BSOD thread. Perhaps this was that thread!

Flashing the BIOS is updating the firmware on the BIOS chip on the motherboard, which carries out certain activities. To do that, just run the EXE file provided on the downloads page.
