Nasty drop is causing my os to crash constantly
Hello people.
Firstly i am new here and would like to give a shout out to all you helpful people out there.
Secondly before i start i must apologise in advance for not being very computer savvy but i will try to explain my issue in the most comprehensive way. I understand that might be a little frustrating for some but again i am sorry.
Ok after a nasty drop down the stairs and a broken screen as a result of it when i turn on my laptop it boots up fine, lets me login to my account etc however after just a couple of minutes, maybe even one minute the operating system will not respond. It wont let me open any programmes, nor can i run anything without it just crashing. Occasionally it will respond again for a few seconds but again it returns to the frustrating crashing.
Is this a harddrive fault now?
I should also mention that when i boot up in safe mode everything seems to run ok. I have not tried opening all programmes but i know that there is no freezing. What does this suggest?
At first i thought if i could run a disk error check that might help solve some issuse, but when the disk check reaches 66 percent of verifying index files it not longer responds. And just remains at 66 percent for hours.
Is there anything i can do to solve this???
I cant run a system restore as i have not created an image for it to restore back too and i dont have a restore installation cd.
Again sincere aplogies for coming accross as a computer moron but any imput or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
