BSOD on wake from sleep when pciE card installed
Hello,
I recently custom built a new Windows 7 HTPC. Ever since I first completed the build, I would get a BSOD every time the computer wakes up after going to sleep. The only ways to avoid the BSOD would be to not let the computer go to sleep (obviously) or to remove the card installed in the PCI Express slot. I currently have a Ceton InfiniTV4 card installed. If I remove the Ceton InfiniTV4 card, then the computer will sleep without issue. I used the same Ceton InfiniTV4 card in a previous Windows 7 build without issue.
When I contacted Ceton support and provided dumps, they advised "Our software engineers have analyzed the memory dumps you provided and it appears that the BSOD is being caused by a windows process called csrss.exe crashing. We would recommend checking on the Microsoft support forums to see if anyone else is having this issue. We would also recommend running a memory test (Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic ) on your RAM to make sure there are no inconsistencies."
I ran a memory test, which found no errors. I tried removing the Ceton InfiniTV4 card and confirmed that the computer can sleep without crashing if nothing is installed in the PCIe slot. I also tried installing a different card - a Rosewill 2-port USB 3.0 SuperSpeed PCIe card (RC-505) - in the PCIe slot. I was able to recreate the BSOD on wake with the Rosewill card installed, so it seems the problem is somehow related to the PCIe slot itself and not necessarily the actual card installed in that slot.
I am attaching the BSOD dump and system file collection along with the perfmon report. Here are my system specs:
