BSOD & Startup problems
Hello,
For the last few weeks I have been getting getting a lot of BSOD and crashes. Whilst they occur unpredictably, there appears to be a pattern emerging. If I get a crash or BSOD it almost always occurs in the first 5-10 minutes after booting up my computer. If I keep my computer on, I can go all day without a crash. Also, placing the computer into sleep mode and resuming appears to reset this timer.
Another seemingly related problem is that my computer has trouble starting up again. I have noticed the following behaviour:
It freezes on the motherboard splash screen (happens often - When I put my computer to sleep at night, the past couple of days I have woken up to this screen)
It freezes on the windows login page
The monitor receives no signal from the computer (blank screen indefinitely)
The computer restarts during booting
So far, I have tried running memtest overnight, I stopped after 5 passes (8h30m or so without any errors). I have also re-installed my video card drivers to no avail.
I have read the sticky and followed the instructions for the attachment. Some other info:
I am running Windows 7 retail version, 64-bit, installed over windows vista about 1 1/2 years ago. My system is a mixture of parts of varying ages. The CPU, mobo and graphics card all being fairly recent (intel Q6600, ATI 4850HD)
Thank you
