Forgot to say, I have also ran CHKDSK/R and SFC/SCANNOW, with no errors and also run Memetest 86+ for four passes without errors, wall time was over 2 hours.

Also checked in sys infor for problem devices with none listed, no conflicts listed for graphics card IRQ.

    Malwarebytes was clean

    Thanks

Enabled driver verifier, have been able to get into windows only once, constantly bsod, with i/o driver faulty pxhlpa.sys, also mentioned asio.sys. i believe , there were a couple of dumps that i was trying to zip up on the one occassion that i have got back into windows, its now saying windows failed to start. it is saying boot selection failed because a required device is inaccesible, am typing on a laptop now, further help please?

    do i launch system repair?

Got back in under sfae mode and deleted the exsisting settings for verifier.exe, am about to attempt the second part for uploadong the bsod dump files. thanks

Be sure and delete the setting by running driver verifier and deleting the settings and rebooting your computer here are the findings of the minidump:

Hi. I no longer have any sonic or roxio software installed, certainly not in programs and features, should i delete the drivers and registry values??

Deleted registry value for sonic and also the driver from the system32 folder, re-enabled driver verifier and got IRQL BSOD, restarted then got ASIO.SYS crash from the verifier.

    dumps attached.........

I have to go but I be back in 15 minutes or so and then I look at the dumps. Doesn't roxio have a clean up tool like nero does?

Thanks Seth, will have a look for clean up tool

No clean up tool, but i have checked the registry and the program files folders and there is nothing labelled roxio or sonic, there was a registry entry for sonic which i deleted and i also deleted the pxhlpa.sys from the system32 driver folder, couldnt find one in syswow64?

checked in all places listed by roxio for clean install, registry, user and program files, no roxio exsists or sonic, the last remnants seemed to be that driver and he registry value.

i think it is gone completely now.

    More iffy stuff

    • Please uninstall RivaTuner known issues w/Win7
    • Go to asus website and update asus probe or remove it from system.
    • Update Acronis to latest "STABLE" version
    • Be sure to turn off driver verifier

Thanks Seth, I deleted the asus driver, hasnt made any difference to my system but stopped the crashing.

I am unsure what Riva Tuner is? Never recall installing it or coming across it, again not in my programs and features, is this part of something else? Is it part of MSI afterburner? I have checked program files and registry, there are no traces or Riva Tuner in its usual guises.

The network store was automatic start, RPC was manual so switched back to Automatic.

Acronis is part of seagate disc wizard, so I dont have a license to update it???

Just finished a six hour prime95 test, so the clocks are stable at least.....

I really applaud what you guys do for everybody here, people should be very grateful to your good selves who voluntarily spend time helping people, This is an excellent forum with Excellent members and I thank you again for your assistance.

    • Good to hear :)

    • It could be like you said part of another program it is usually a program for tweaking things.

The network store was automatic start, RPC was manual so switched back to Automatic.

    • Shouldn't make to much of difference.

Acronis is part of seagate disc wizard, so I dont have a license to update it???

    • Maybe Seagte Disc Wizard has a more recent version but again it's not a critical thing.

Just finished a six hour prime95 test, so the clocks are stable at least.....

    • Also very good to hear...

    • Well it's good to have patient people such as yourself to work with as well. There are some out there that think that one post is gonna fix everything without the .dmp files or following the posting instructions lol, we wish it could always be that easy but unfortunately it's not.

Take care Nomad if you have anymore issues please post back.

    Regards

    Seth
