    OK. In that case, continue with karls suggestion about the sfc /scannow.

    Also uninstall, if possible, the nvidia update program from the list of installed programs.

    Did you delete that and any other user accounts which you did not install?

    Golden,
    I don't have an nvidia card. In Demetros's list of installed programs there are several nvidia programs. Is that normal?

    Yes. Those 4 Nvidia programs look completely normal to me - I have exactly the same.

    @golden,
    Thanks. Demetros has a bunch of installed programs which may be interfering but uninstalling and leaving uninstalled until the rotten apple is located can be a real pain. My system is simple. Only programs known to be non-interfering (of which Nero is not) on my system and before I install programs that I want to test before recommending I always create a restore point and for major packages, then a full system image backup.

    The restore points and backup may be a pain but they sure have saved my bacon more than once.

    I noted a uTorrent application in the list too. Sorry to ask the question, but are any of those installed game 'cracked' versions? If so, they could be causing all sorts of issues.

    Hello Demetros, I've read through here and I think if possible you should uninstall/delete the above items I marked in red. I know Steam has something to do with gaming but has caused issues in the past. Google I don't trust and don't have it on my system. What is the function of Peer Guardian?

    The rest are uneeded, especially O&O Defrag. It was OK for XP (I used it) but Win 7 has an auto-defrag built in and arranges files the way Windows "wants" them.
    Adobe products and Java will function fine without their updaters and ARM.
    Re: what Golden said, many torrents come packaged with malware even if not a cracked version. They can be modified by people other than the author of it.

    ok.. This is what Ive done so far sense last post. Ive run SCANNOW not problems found. When I bought my system there was about a 200 games installed on it. I have no idea if they were cracked or not. I would thing some maybe were. I have only played a few so Iam trying to uninstall as many as possible. Deleteing the rest. The only game I play is Counter-strike (Steam), I bought. Ive been running CCleaner registry. Ive also been running Autoruns. Ive found a few "listings" that say file not found. I unclick them and no problems except 1. When I unclick ..\At1 File not found: C:\Users\Brett\AppData\Local\Temp\n2base.exe it says "Error changing item state:" I click ok and its still checked.
    As for the added user account, Ive blocked all time allocation and unclicked all program in parental control. I don't know how to get rid of it. It's not listed when I pull up the user accounts, it's only listed in parental controls.
