Out of the blue BSOD 0xF4

    Hi all!

I've built this PC from scratch just a few months ago and I'm beginning to get BSOD's multiple times each week now.

I haven't been able to witness many BSOD's as they mostly happen when I'm away from the PC. (I have disabled sleep and hibernation)

Normally I get 0x7A's but now I got a 0xF4, I've attached all needed data to this post.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me :)

Did you check your RAM? Run ramtest to see if anything is wrong.

Update your video card driver. Go directly to manufacturer site to download the latest video card driver.

But I suspect this has to do with your IDE cable setup in bio. Try first 2 recommendations first, report back.

    Thanks, will test tonight.
I only have 1 drive, and thus only 1 SATA cable, so I'm not sure how this could have something to do with IDE cable setup in bios.

    Hello,

This appears to be a bug with the Vertex 3 firmware, though you are already running 2.11, which has fixed that bug.

Try freeing up some space on the drive. I see you have 6.4GB free, and I'd recommend you have at least 10-15. If at all possible, move some of your stuff to another drive. If you don't want to use the other drive, you could map a Windows Live Skydrive (or two, or three!) to your system. See here: Windows Live SkyDrive - Map Drive

Also update your SATA/chipset drivers: Intel® Driver Update Utility
    Code:
    Event[9915]:
      Log Name: System
      Source: atapi
      Date: 2011-08-30T07:45:38.785
      Event ID: 11
      Task: N/A
      Level: Error
      Opcode: N/A
      Keyword: Classic

      Description:

Are you sure that diskspace has anything to do with this? Seems a bit far fetched, thought I'll surely try it out.

Well, my chipset drivers are the most recent ones, but I can't update my SATA drivers, as the intel drivers cause a weird latency problem, which messes up all sound output.

No - unsure about the disk space. I'm pretty sure it's hard drive related though, so it's just an idea I had. Between you and me, I don't have high hopes for it, but BSODs are tricky beasts to subdue.

Have you tried reinstalling the updated SATA drivers since you determined they were causing trouble and removed them? If not, give 'em another shot, perhaps it was just an installation glitch. If the problem returns, revert to the old drivers again. If BSODs persist, I'd suggest you RMA the SSD, or return it if possible and get a different one.

I've installed and reinstalled the SATA drivers multiple times, I've reinstalled my whole system 3 times this summer. It's always the same thing.

Okay, RAMtest done(8,5h) no errors, Grahpics drivers already were up-to-date

I'd suggest you return/RMA the SSD and get a different one, if you have the option of a refund. If not, content yourself with a replacement drive.

The free space idea may be far-fetched, but there is a chance that it solves the issue. If so, it's a lot faster than RMAing!

Got another BSOD today, this time a 7A. It seems I accidentally went under the free space suggestion again. Not sure if it has anything to do with it though.
Any new insights would be appreciated.
