    BSOD - Multiple Circumstances

    Hi there,

I bought this new system around a week ago. I've experienced a number of BSOD messages (now up to 13 I think). Had the issue from day 1.
Have noticed that the stop error '0x000000d1' appears to be present in a number of cases.

Not used to my computers being unreliable and really need a stable system to take with me to university.

Any help greatly appreciated - I have attached both dump files and health report.
    System spec below:-

Windows Version: 7 Ultimate x64 - Full Retail
    OS Installed: 13/09/2011
    System Bought: 13/09/2011 From Novatech

    Many Thanks

    Ash

    Ash hi and welcome

An easy one. Virtually all of these crashes were Related to athrx.sys Extensible Wireless LAN device driver from Atheros Communications, Inc.. I would re-install it with the newest available.

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Thanks for the quick response zigzag

Unfortunately, the only drivers I've found are on atheros.cz, which provides you with .zip files.

When I extract them, I can see the .inf files but my method of right-clicking and then hitting install doesn't seem to work as I am greeted by the message 'The INF files you selected does not support this method of installation'.

Am I missing something? This occurs with both ethernet and wireless drivers.

    Thanks

    Ash

In order to help we need the systems specs and OS. Make and model of the computer, how much ram, etc.

When we have that we can do look for drivers for you

There should be drivers that have installers but we cant tell till we get that info from you.

    Hi zigzag

Happened to have just stumbled across my solution over at 'pcsupport.com'. Turned out I was missing out a step for manual driver installation.

Have now updated the wireless driver to 9.2.0.113, which I believe is the latest version.

Thanks for all your help here.

    Regards
    Ash
