Sounds like a BIOS issue, update it to the latest version
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS M5A78L LE

Turn off AHCI in your BIOS if it is on

Donliridon, I don't believe that it is a motherboard hard disk support problem.

You said that you had installed a game and then the bsod's started?

Where did you get the "GAME" and it sounds to me that the install might have
    screwed up your system.

Of course after it all was working, you did create an image of your C drive so that
    you could recover?

Also, have you looked into booting the windows install disk and doing a system repair?

Yeah, i was downloading World of Warcraft from battle.net but i recognized something in the Asus Page, Storage Built-in Controller :
    6 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue
Support Raid 0, 1, 10, JBOD SATA 3GB/s my Harddisk is 1.5 GB/s do you think that could be the problem?

ive tried to do the booting and do a systtem repair with the W7 CD but dident work couldent find the drive.
