Windows 7 Opens and looks fine but doesn't function

Okay forum I am coming to you once again for a little assistance.

Today I went to fire up my desktop and everything loaded quick and fine as usual. But when I went to click on my browser nothing happened. I then proceeded to try and click on my Windows Start button but again nothing happened. Nothing will function at all. The system just freezes and won't do anything.

My system is set up using an SSD for the OS and a RAID0 array for the programs and user files. While I have had issues with CHKDSK pulling the Raid array apart it is now disabled on both the SSD and the Raid array. I tried loading with the install disk and going to a restore point but the only one is from the updates yesterday and the issue still remains. I have also tried the SFC /SCANNOW using the command prompt on the install disk and it found no errors. I'm at a loss here and really don't want to do a fresh install. This thing is a pain to set up.

Okay so I figured it all out. Still not sure why it happened but here's how I fixed it. I rebooted the system and loaded into safe mode. Once in I accessed the hidden system admin, found my user profile and transferred it over to another drive just in case. During the transfer the loader froze so I had to abort with a manual system power down (holding down the D-Day button). Once the system booted up (again into safe mode) I ran CHKDSK again on both drives. Again the results came back negative. However when the system rebooted into normal OPS I had a functional desktop. The only issue being that even though I logged into my profile, once in I got an error. "You have been signed into a temporary profile, etc. etc." Since I at least have some headway I jumped over to the hidden system admin and went to the REGEDIT. I found my User Profile Registry Key, backed it up and deleted it and rebooted. After I rebooted I no longer had this error but none of my saved files, movies or pictures were anywhere to be found. I did however manage to keep my programs installed. But then I got to thinking about that file I tried to back up. I tried to open it and got an error. I tried to delete it and it wouldn't let me. I finaly played it all out and ran CHKDSK again from safe mode on both drives. Lots of errors. After I booted the system up this last time I was able to open the file and low and behold I at least saved my docs and pics. Just transferred everything over and am now back in business.
