BSOD randomly when booting after GPU/PSU change.

Hi there,

after installing a new GPU (MSI GTX570) and a new PSU (Enermax Pro87+ 600W) like 4 Weeks ago, I get random Bluescreens when booting up with an Error Code 7e. This started about 2 Weeks after installing the initial Hardware. I performed a clean install of the GPU Drivers including removing the old ones with driversweeper.

After rebooting again after the BSOD the system boots up as usual, no problems involved. I already performed another clean install of the GPU Drivers, but still I get those BSOD's randomly (about every third boot?).

My System Spec:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with SP1
Phenom X4 955
Gigabyte UD3P
4GB of G.Skill 1600 Ram, 2x 2GB
MSI TwinFrozr III GTX570
Enermax Pro 87+ 600W
(no overclocking with any of these components)

I reinstalled Windows 7 two weeks prior to exchanging the Hardware, its a Retail Version.

I have attached the zip file of my minidmp and perfmom as stated in the sticky thread.

I hope someone can help me out here, this is getting really annoying. After googling you guys in here seem the most competent to me.

No DMP files in the upload please try this method.


We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and which one was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.


To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Hm, thats weird.

I ensured that all the options are set correctly (they were in the first place, though) but the Minidump folder is indeed empty.

In the Bluescreen it was noted though that a "Physical memory dump" was written.

Is this a known problem too?

Nope. It usualy is when there is either no paging file too small a paging file, or a page file on a different hd than the OS.
