BSOD when playing CoD4 and BF3 beta

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
    Original installed
    OEM
    OS is 2 yrs old

Mobo: ASUS M2N-E (5 yrs old)
GPU: MSI 9600GT (3 yrs old)
    RAM: 2x1GB Corsair DDR2-800MHz (5 yrs old); 2x1GB Mushkin DDR2-800 MHz (2 yrs old)
    CPU: Phenom II X4 945 (3 days old, recently upgraded from Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (5yrs old))
PSU: Antec 550W (5 yrs old)

Been getting blue screens since upgrading CPU and playing CoD4 and BF3 beta. No problems when playing UT2004, or encoding videos using Handbrake.

Updated to latest video drivers, and chipset drivers.

According to Speedfan, CPU core temp max at 56 degrees C, GPU max at 60 degrees C.

Thank you, your help is appreciated.

Strangely it seems microsoft security essentials is behind this.
Congratulations you're the first case of MSE failing in a specific instance I have seen as of now.
You may want to try disabling it when playing the game for the time being.

However, the nature of the failure is memory oriented.
It could just be nothing else you are doing is using the memory address in question
Testing memory can be done overnight while you sleep by running this tool (instructions at link)
    RAM - Test with Memtest86+

    First things first...

I ran memtest on each of the 4 sticks, finding that one of the sticks only lasted 8 seconds before an error showed. After completing memtest, I proceeded with 3 of the good sticks, having a total of 3GB.

After starting Windows, I ended msseces.exe through task manager, and attempted to play BF3. After about 10 minutes, I received a blue screen with the code 7E. After rebooting, another blue screen appeared with the error code 24, before I got to the Windows splash screen. I believe 24 is the error that is in the attachment.

    Thanks Maguscreed for your assistance.

Well digging deeper I do notice you have the old ASACPI.sys from 2005 This is part of the asus utility package and is a big bsod causer for windows 7 it gave me some hell a while back.
I can't directly trace it to the problems you are having, but you are in luck I happen to have a asus board myself and I have the new version of that driver.

    I'll attach it here.
I ran multiple trace backs on this error and I have no explanation for it that adds up (I still suggest replacing your outdated asacpi.sys file in system32\drivers though reboot after the change is made)

The only other thing I see that's out of place is you apparently have a daemon tools installed, it sometimes doesn't like windows 7 I suggest removing it, then using the sptd removal tool found here.
    DuplexSecure - Downloads

I wish I could give you some better direction but you are dealing with beta software here. Those are the only two things I could spot in the driver dump that could be leading to the problems you are experiencing. The sptd.sys is the virtual drive driver for daemon tools and alcohol 120%, while it's not common they have been known to cause problems. ...and you can always reinstall it later if you really have too...

If you see NtfsExceptionFilter on the stack then the 2nd and 3rd
parameters are the exception record and context record. Do a .cxr
on the 3rd parameter and then kb to obtain a more informative stack
        trace.

I replaced asacpi.sys with the one you provided and rebooted. I also uninstalled Daemon tools as well as performed the sptd removal. I stopped msseces.exe, as well as MsMpEng.exe, both related to MSE, and continued with BF3.

Good news, I was able to play for 2 mins at a time before BF3 closed and brought me to the desktop. This occurred about 10 times until I received the following BSoD which I have attached here.

Well I have to give you some direction here.
I just got in on the bf3 beta, and it's crashing on me quite often as well. Though I'm not experiencing full on blue screens there seems to be no actual trigger for the crashes other than the game itself.

I'm guessing you updated your video drivers to the latest before starting with it?

Yes I have updated to latest nvidia beta drivers. While I was generating a BSoD report, I blue screened again with a win32k.sys message.

Reinstalling Win7 won't fix anything right?

Got this BSoD when just playing CoD4, so I can rule out being due to BF3.

Now I'm getting BSoD by running MSE scans.... I'm going to do a fresh install of Windows 7 and see if I still get BSoD's from scanning.

Yeah, I looked over many of your crash dumps and was never able to find a common denominator so that may be your best bet for the moment.
