Windows 7 will not fully shut down, problems with sleep mode.

    Hello all,

I recently purchased a new computer, an Alienware, and have had some issues with shutting down and sleep mode. When I try to shut the computer down, it frequently stalls on the "shutting down" screen, and no matter how long I leave it, it will stay there, so I have to manually turn it off. Of course, this is not ideal. Second, when the computer is coming out of sleep mode, often times I will not be able to connect to the internet (the network icon will have a ! in the lower right hand corner of the screen) and when I attempt to reboot the computer, it again freezes. I am running a 64 bit operating system, and any help you can lend would be greatly appreciated!!

First off, I can tell you that- when you awake your computer, the connection will be offline in some cases. Mine does that too.

About the core of the problem, i'm stumped.

    Let's wait for more techies.
