BSOD on Dell Vostro Laptop (and I'm abroad and need to fix myself)

I was uploading photos to Facebook and on Twitter, Gmail, and a university admissions page when the computer totally stooped. Cursor would not move, would not respond to ctrl+alt+delete, so after waiting a minute, I held the power button to shut it off.

On reboot, I launched normally and got a bluescreen before I could login in. Tried restarting and the problem continued. I had to launch Safe Mode to get it to start, and it wouldn't operate in Safe Mood with networking. System restore has done nothing and I don't have the OS disc with me.

Can't run a health report from Safe Mode, so I can't give you that info.

Anything else I can give you to help?

These were Related to athr.sys Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN device driver.. I would re-install newest driver available.

ABout half your system drivers need updating. These are all from before win 7 was released.

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

I've had difficulty finding a manufacturer's website that hosts drivers. I found an unofficial site here:

Drivers for Atheros AR9285 and Windows 7

This looks like the most recent driver for my network adaptor. After downloading the file and manually updating the driver to the version I pulled off of this site, I still can't run my computer normally. In your reply you had said to update all of my drivers, but I thought after fixing the driver related to athr.sys, the bluescreen issue would be resolved.

Do I need to find updates for every outdated driver before it will work?
