BSOD happening multiple times per day

    Hi All,

Been getting BSOD a hell of a lot lately. I actually thought that it was a reg error initially (I had assumed that I'd messed something up) and had my OS re-installed only to find that the same thing is happening. It doesn't seem to happen when I'm doing anything specific. I'll just be happily emailing or browsing and then BANG! BSOD!

I've looked at the mini dump files with Blue Screen viewer and the common factor is ntkrnlpa.exe but from what I gather on these forums and elsewhere it probably isn't the cause, more of a symptom.

Most of the system is under a year old, my old motherboard fried last Oct so I replaced with the Biostar N68S+ with a new AMD Athlon II X2 and a new video card; GeForce 8400GS 512MB PCiEx.

I ran Memtest86+ for 9 passes and had no errors.

I've been getting some video freezing up on some games so I thought it might be an issue with the video card. I really need some advice though because I don't want to start just messing about blindly.

I've tried following what the BSOD Posting Instructions said but let me know if I missed anything.

    Thanks in advance, n

    Never forget the hardware!

One of the errors I was getting was 0X00000A and a bit of trawling the web suggested memory issues. Having done 9 passes with memtest I had thought it was OK. I opened the case and re-seated the memory and hey presto it started up fine and fingers crossed still going strong. :)
