BSOD during Macrium Image creation

OK. Some updates on some tests:

QPI/VVT = 1.190v
DRAM = 1.560v
Turbo = ON
All 8 workers passed with no errors

QPI/VVT = 1.170v
DRAM = 1.500v
Turbo = ON
All 8 workers passed with no errors

QPI/VVT = 1.110v
DRAM = 1.500v
Turbo = ON
All 8 workers passed with no errors

Now I'm a bit confused : the last settings (1.100 and 1.500) were the settings I had when I had the BSOD. The only thing that is different now is the H60 cooling instead of the stock cooler......could that be the issue despite the dmp file clearly pointing to a RAM error?

It's possible.
An overheated CPU can give errors, or throttle down (it lowers the CPU voltage) which can cause the crashes.
Sometimes just re-seating a heatsink or RAM can stop the issues that were causing the crashes.

Run memtest86+ for a full 7 passes, best to run overnight.
If you get any errors you can stop the test.

You can try any scenarios that cause a crash previously.

And consider that this is the i7 processor, correct? The memory controller is in the CPU. So it should not surprise that an overheating i7 processor might throw up a memory error in Windows.

Computer hardware technology is often outpacing software. So success using software diagnostic tools is largely dependent on how up to date the program is with the latest technologies. We must keeps grains of salt handy.

Thats correct : i7-860. I have this feeling deep down in my gut that this problem was indeed CPU cooler related (something that Britton spotted early on).

Recall : in order to install the taller Vengance RAM, I had to remove the Noctua cooler and replace it with the stock cooler. I has having huge problems keeping the CPU < 77.7 for anything more than 3 minutes using Prime95. Perhaps my thermal pasting skills are not up to scratch....but when I removed the stock cooler the paste "seemed" OK to me.

Anyway, I now have gone with the Corsair H60 water cooling kit (with the TIM pre-applied) I am having none of these issues at all : and I can run Prime95 on maximum torture testing for a good 2/3 hours and the CPU just refuses to consider going anywhere about 58. A massive dramatic imporvement.

I am going to just use my system normally as I always do for the next few days (general browsing, some gaming, and work related stuff), and then over the weekend:

1. Run Memtest86+ for 7 complete passes, and
2. Run one final Prime95 torture test for a good 2 hours

If that comes up good, then I think this problem is solved. I'll post back again after this coming weekend.

Golden you might also run download from Guru3D.com . On stress level run the standard, high and very high. Each run will take about 6 minutes. Many overclockers use it along with Prime. I would suggest running a temp monitor, this test is a tough one. I have ran it on my AMD X6 and my temp went to 71C at one point...my Tjmax is only 67C though.

Britton30's suggestion of using the Intel Burn Test is a good one, just watch your temps, it will bring 'em up.
Should be fine with your new cooler.

That should be rock solid. At first Intel burn crashed my system (AMD) as soon as I hit the start button.
Got it fixed and run those same tests. I think the IntelBurn is a much harder and more accurate stability test then Prime95.
