Ok, so from what I gather it's not possible to recover this key.

    How about this.
Will I need this serial key if I run my Win 7 installation disk while the system is working and install a new system from it with formatting system partition? Is that even possible?

Any way to workaround inputing serial while installing?

This is a really gray area. IF you have a legal serial number you do not have to input it while installing BUT you will after you have finished.

No matter where you install or how if you want to be legal you will need a valid legitimate serial number.
