    Ok so i got to the point where it wasnt even starting windows and bsod looping so i formatted my hdd and reinstalled windows vista home premium 64 bit and the windows 7 upgrade (oem) , all the windows updates and the drivers and bf3 , steam and origin.

    So its been oki for the last 2-3 days but i got another bsod today 124 yet again , i then went to install the sdk debugging tools to read the mini dump and for some unknown reason it wont let me anymore keeps throwing me up an error so i cant do anything .... theres no overheating( checked temps ), components are all oki working as intended not over taxing them etc( looking at the performance they lke 50% if that) and i have no oc .

    Im thinking bad driver for my processor but not sure ? any help be appreciated as im kinda new to the minidump reading thing and started to get frustrated with this pc ! lol :)

    We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

    You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

    To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

    The procedure:

    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    *If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:

    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.

    Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

    A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

    Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

    Some generic advice.

    If you are overclocking STOP. return to the default settings at least for now.
    If you are running a RAID update its driver.

    Still points to hardware but now that we have the DMP we can look at other things as well

    1-ASACPI.SYS
    (yours 2006)

    The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

    Please visit this link: ASUS teK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
    ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE

    Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).
    Download and install it.
    Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.SYS file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOTbefore).

    Doesnt say. One thing I would try before starting with the hardware is to remove AVG and replace with Microsoft Security essentials at least to test.

    or

    Well this is strange i did as u requested and got a bsod again , but i was looking through the bf3 forums outta something to do for a while and found other people having the same problem as me recently ... bsod , 124 code .

    People have said that they maybe a conflict between their audio ( realtek ) and punkbuster( the anti cheat software) so i disabled all my sound through the playback devices and ive spent the last 2 hours almost without a bsod , will test more thoughry tomorrow.

    Will keep you informed but if it is no sound in a war game bleh !
