Wait right here and I will see if I can refer someone to you - I am in training! :)
We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
If you are overclocking STOP
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.
The procedure:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.
The one dmp file uploaded is inconclusive. If you have more please upload them.
In the meantime there are some really ancient drivers that need updating
Code:VcommMgr.sys 3/25/2005 4:18:47 AM BTHidMgr.sys 4/30/2005 1:50:09 AM blueletaudio.sys 5/31/2005 2:40:18 AM usbfilter.sys 4/3/2009 6:39:45 AM
How To Find Drivers:- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloadscode]
There were 2 minidump files in the zip archive. There are no more files in the minidump folder on my pc.
The 3 first driver belong to the bluetooth IVT software that I un-installed like I was instructed when I first posted here because I don't need it anymore. I don't understand why the drivers are still there. Any advice?
The third driver belong to the AMD chipset and I hope I now updated the correct driver.
What's next?
OK. Thanks.
btw - Is there a way to remove the drivers relating to the IVT software that I mentioned?
OK.
The compuer didn't crash (I didn't get a BSOD) but if froze a minute ago (the mouse and the keyboard stopped responding), and I had to force shutdown (by pressing the "on" button untill is shut down).
Unfortunately, the problem wasn't solved.
The computer crashed this morning again right after start up.
