    Windows 7 Volmgrx.sys problem

    Good day, everyone. :)

I'd just like to ask for help on this recurring problem that has me at my wit's end.

I recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 Home Basic 32 bit, updated my drivers, and installed updates from Microsoft.

Then a few days later, windows started up with startup repair. At first, I thought that it meant nothing. But then it started to randomly occur whenever I turned my PC on. I checked the repair log that appeared afterwards and saw that volmgrx.sys had a problem and that the PC tried to resolve it but couldn't, so it decided to do a system restore.

I then decided to just reinstall the OS and hope for the best.

It worked fine for a while but then the volmgrx.sys problem started cropping up again. Now I can't install any of the programs I need because the computer keeps doing system restore anyway.

I've searched through the net for solutions to this problem but couldn't really find them. There were some advice though, such as 'repair the system using the CD' and 'reinstall your OS'... but I already did those.

If anyone could help me, I'd really appreciate it. If you need any extra data to make a proper diagnosis, please tell me how to do it and I'd be more than happy to provide you with what you need.

    Thank you very much. :)

    Hi, just an update:

The pc had problems with the following files as well...

    disk.sys
    classpnp.sys

But that was before I reformatted it. Now it's just the volmgrx.sys that has a problem.
