    First step:

Please remove Daemon Tools, as it uses a driver called dtsoftbus01.sys that is known to cause BSODs.

I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

The first number in the bugcheck params is the number of the trap (8 = double fault, etc) Consult an Intel x86 family manual to learn more about what these traps are. Here is a *portion* of those codes: If kv shows a taskGate use .tss on the part before the colon, then kv. Else if kv shows a trapframe use .trap on that value Else .trap on the appropriate frame will show where the trap was taken (on x86, this will be the ebp that goes with the procedure KiTrap) Endif kb will then show the corrected stack. I know you already ran Memtest and found no errors, but Memtest sometimes misses memory problems associated with Windows. Please also run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. You may want to run this overnight since it takes a long time to finish.

    OK.
    I removed Daemon Tools.
Ran the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool 3 (!) times, this took me more than 6 hours; no failures. Will start tonight for another 3 runs.
    I will keep you informed.

    The results :
    - 7x Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool : no problems
    - 2x 5 times Memtest 86+ : no problems
Several days no BSOD's until the 6th. of January.
    The minidump is enclosed.
I will try the suggestions until next Friday the 13th ().

Then I will reinstall Windows 7, now the 32 bit version. If the BSOD keep coming, I have to consider to return to Windows XP.

Run Disk Check with just the Automatically fix file system errors checked

    Also, check for viruses.
    1. Download and install the free version (do not start the trial) of Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware, anti-virus and spyware removal download and make sure to select the update box before finishing installation. Let it update. Do not run it yet.
    2. Download VIPRE Rescue - VIPRE Computer Recovery Solution from Sunbelt Software but do not unzip it yet.
    3. Download the Fakerean removal tool
    4. Start in Safe Mode and run in the following order.
      a. Unzip VIPRE Rescue and let it run.
      b. Run a full scan of Malwarebytes
      c. Run the fakerean tool.

    Post back your results.

ASUS BIOS, Intel Chipset E7200 and Windows 7 (!)

    Dear all,

I think I got the reason for all my problems, but first an update:
    1. Disk Check in Windows 7 : no problems found
    2. VIPRE Rescue : no viruses found
    3. Full scan of Malwarebytes : : no viruses found
    4. Fakerean tool : no problems/viruses
Still there are a lot of BSOD’s.

Then someone suggested me to look AGAIN at the BIOS.
I got the most recent BIOS (version 07.02) but, I found out that this BIOS does NOT support the Core 2Duo, E7200 processor; it supports previous processors but not the 7200 (http://www.asus.nl/Barebone_PC/V_Ser.../V3P5G33/#CPUS)
The system (ASUS V3-P5G33 barebone with Core 2Duo E7200 processor) was sold to me and functioned without problems with Windows XP for more than 3 years.
The ASUS V3-P5G33 barebone is made of a P5K-VM/V motherboard. For both motherboards (VM and V), newer BIOS’s are available which support the Core 2Duo E7200 processor (http://usa.asus.com/Motherboards/Int...ket_775/P5KVM/). Flashing the BIOS from the ASUS V3-P5G33 barebone, however, is not permitted. When I tried to update the BIOS, I get the message that the model of the BIOS image does not match the BIOS ROM currently present.
The ASUS helpdesk comfirms my findings mentioned above. But asking for a solution, or the possibility to flash the BIOS with the newer version, it keeps shamefacedly quiet; ASUS does not answer.

I think the only way to keep the computer running is to reinstall Windows XP.
I tried to install Windows XP on a new SSD, and it is running now for 48 hours without problems.
Does someone have additional ideas to resolve the problem with the Windows 7/ASUS V3-P5G33 barebone/Core 2Duo E7200 processor problem ?
