    Random BSODs, error code 0x0000001e


    Hey guys, i randomly get blue screens with the error code 0x0000001e i have a program called bluecscreenviewer which allows me to see the blue screens and what caused it etc. I have had 11 blue screens so far all with the same error. If someone could help me with this problem it would really be appreciated. I have the .dmp files but i dont think you can attach .dmp files.

    We do need the actual DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

    It is almost impossible to spot trends from a single DMP file so if you have more than one please upload them. If you only have one please wait until the computer crashes again then upload both.

    You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

    To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.



    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
    *If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.

    The problem appears to be caused by your gaming mouse. Uninstall the mouse's driver by doing the following.

    1. Click Start Menu
    2. Right click My Computer
    3. Click Manage
    4. Click Device Manager from the list on the left
    5. Click the + next to Mice and other pointing devices
    6. Right click on the mouse in the drop menu
    7. Click Uninstall (put a tick if asked if you want to delete the driver software)
    8. Click OK.
    9. Restart your computer and see if you get another BSOD after reinstalling your mouse driver.

    Ok i uninstalled the mouse drivers should i reinstall new ones or just leave it alone i dont really need to configure what buttons do what

    You could leave it and see if it stops the BSODs. Based on the question, am I right in concluding that Windows just installed a generic mouse driver?

    Six different causes. WHen there are that many causes it usually points to hardware but in this case I am betting it is your Symantec

    I do notice Symantec which is a frequent cause of BSOD's. I would remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test.

    I got another BSOD today will upload that .dmp with this post. Mouse on device manager says HP HDX Elite Mouse which was what it said before i uninstalled it, i also just updated the driver, and im not sure about uninstalling norton. Is there anything else causing the BSODS besides the mouse and norton?

    More likely Norton, but this may contribute

    Ok i uninstalled the ScreamingBee stuff and the avnex. Waiting to see what happens, if i get more blue screens i will try with norton. Do you know what happening exactly? Is it like norton or a driver trying to do something and there is bad file and windows just shuts down because of the error?
