If your system was stable with 2x4GB RAM and only started having issues when you added the RAM for a total of 4x4GB may indicate it's not the same issue.

Let us know if you have any further crashes.
    No.
The system is stable with my original 2x4GB sticks.
The system is unstable with either:
2x4GB sticks that are new (same model and serials)
Combination of the old and new ram 4x4GB

Please tell me your PSU isn't 20 years old.
    2 years

Can you fill in your system specs at the bottom left of any of your posts?
That way we don't have to keep going back to your first post to see them.
    Sure

I'm going to guess your motherboard is an Asus P8P67 Pro, please confirm.
    Yes not Revision 3

Which graphics card driver are you using?
    2x's ATi 5830's in crossfire not OC'ed

Since you mentioned it, what anti-virus are you using?
    Avast

What is your BIOS setting for CPU overheating?
Need to check, wish I had a drac card since im @ work.

Your Tcase, from Golden's post above, is 72.6°C add 5°C for max CPU core temps of 77.6°C.
Core temp of 80°C, being just above that, is over the recommended limit. Many people go above this recommendation, it will not likely harm your CPU but, I like to stay below the max recommended temps.
I have the stock heatink installed. I plan to invest in a new one but I figured since it was doing a memory/cpu burn its unlikely my pc would run that hot for that long.

With everything at stock settings it shouldn't be that high (even with a stock cooler), re-apply the thermal paste on your CPU cooler. Be sure the cooler is firmly attached.
Its fine, I have checked it already, stock paste but that will be swapped out soon enough with the new heatsink.

When you ran memtest86+, was that with 16GB RAM installed?
Ran 2 testes. Old ram (passed), New + Old Ram (passed no errors)

Can you download CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.
For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

Will do when I get home.

Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages are, it's VCCIO voltage on your Asus P8P?.
Should really invest in that drac if only it worked in non Dells.

Often with large amounts of RAM you will need to adjust some settings, usually DRAM and IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) voltages.
Let's look at the information requested and make a few adjustments.

    Drivers:
The drivers are missing for a propriety USB device they are not missing they are just poorly coded and windows does not understand. And unrelated.

Im going to run BF3 tonight all night and see if I get a single reboot. I am 80% sure its solved as I could play for longer then 20mins last night (1hr 30min). But seeing as it was not a long enough test I want to be sure.

Im not all like BAWW I can't play BF3, that's not why Im here. I am here because I want to get the full capacity out of my PC (stock clocked) and learn more about adjusting timing on the ram.

In testing I adjusted the voltage from 1.6 to 1.5 (recommended for this ram) but it was way under clocked so I put it to 1.55 while still having issues and it seeming was better.

But all that is in the past as I think its fixed and everything is back to auto. Ill let you know tonight.

    That's much better.

    Sure ?

Which graphics card driver are you using?
    2x's ATi 5830's in crossfire not OC'ed
Which ATI drivers are you using?
Go to the start button, right click 'Computer' then select 'Manage'.
On the left panel select 'Device Manager'
In the center panel expand 'Display Adapters'
Right click your graphics card and select 'Properties'
Select the 'Drivers' tab, look for the 'Driver Version' number
    Then post it here.

    Avast is good.

Shouldn't be a problem for short periods.

Ran 2 testes. Old ram (passed), New + Old Ram (passed no errors)
RAM tests, memtest86+ is the best, will sometimes pass several times and then show errors. It's just a fact of electronics.
If you have any more crashes, run memtest86+ with only the new RAM installed.

    This is important information.

That's ok, we can wait till you get home.

This may be an issue, might come back to it later.

    The CPUZ tabs look good.

How's it running on the loose 11-11-11-28 timings?
Should be stable on those timings, if you get a crash now, run memtest86+ on the new RAM.

Get the VCCIO voltage when you can.

The timings I know nothing about other then the ram is capable of CL 9-9-9-24. I have not modified them since I don't know what Im doing. I know lower is better (?).

Ill get the VCCIO tonight from the UEFI.

Your RAM is set to JEDEC #6, which is 11-11-11-30.
The system should run stable at these settings.

Learning to adjust RAM settings takes a lot of reading and then a lot of learning and testing.
You won't notice any performance difference for timings at 9-9-9-25 and 11-11-11-28.
Lower, tighter, timings will give more performance but, you will only notice in a benchmark.

Sometimes with higher amounts of RAM you will need to back off, loosen, the timings to get stability. Sometimes you have to lower the frequency also.

Good to know if the difference between 9-9-9-24 and 11-11-11-28 is so little then Im not going to worry about it. Thanks for summing it up. I would not attempt to modify them as I know that the CPU and memory work in synchronism and there need to be little adjustments to ea to make it successful. Knowing that keeps me from OC'ing my box until it becomes slow.

Only think slowing down my box is the 2TB WD Green drive lol, been kicking myself for buying it for my OS disk (I know I know) I was going to wait till boxing day to get my SSD's and stripe them.

But now with the price of spinning disks so high all my pals are wishing they had a extra 2TB sitting around.

    Your welcome.

The price of HDD is unfortunate, hopefully they will come down in the next couple of months.
