    BSOD at random (unrelated) times

    Is Windows 7 . . .
    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? 64
    - the original installed OS on the system? OEM
    - an OEM or full retail version?
    - OEM = came pre-installed on system
    - Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? Purchased December 2010
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Original install
    ----
BSOD happens whether computer is in use or not..can happen several times a day, then go days without happening at all - then cycle starts again.

So I have no idea what is triggering this - or when to expect it! Very frustrating!

Your latest .dmp file is from October 20, 2011... What is the current date shown on your system?

Given the age of your system and the fact that .dmp files seem to be missing:
    • If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

    • Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations.

No integrity violations after first run.

When I ran the performance monitor, it came back with the following Warning:

    Severity: Informational
Symptom: Missing Events in Event Log
Details: Investigate why 17% (4,923) events were lost during data collection. The settings for Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) maximum buffers and buffer size may not be optimal depending on which data sets are being collected.

So far so good...haven't really put it through the paces yet. My minidump files still stop at 10/11 - so I'm not sure what that's about...

Thanks for all of the help so far!
