Solved: BSOD when starting any game, error 0x000000f4

    Hi all,

For two days I got BSODs 0x000000f4 just seconds after entering any graphics-intensive game.

After extensive searching, even on this forum, and using BlueScreenViewer, I defragmented my SSDs, and the problem is fixed, I can play games again. BSV says the address in stack where the error was is ntoskrnl.exe+37ab70.

Drive D: where my games are, was 66% fragmented!

So before you go ripping out your PC's proverbial guts, try defrag, it's a simple thing, but so easy to forget about unless specifically reminded (or a crisis hits).

EDIT: Also do a game file repair with the tool you use to manage it, after defrag.

Before posting a BSOD thread, please read the instructions here: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

If you need to add new information like the dump files, please make a new post in your initial BSOD thread. Please do not make an extra new thread.
