    Windows 7 keeps freezing

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my windows 7. It keeps crashing at random times.
    I had 3 crashes yesterday and 2 today so far.

    I tried to search for dump files to check the problem but couldn't find any, there is no minidump folder either, so what is the deal here?

    If I go to the "view event logs", this is what I am getting:

    Critical 09/08/2009 11:08:22 Kernel-Power 41 (63)

    The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
    Code:

      <Data Name="SleepInProgress">false</Data>
      <Data Name="PowerButtonTimestamp">0</Data>
      </EventData>
      </Event>
    I am using this version Win7.7600.16385.090713-1255.X86FRE.

    And if you are wondering if this is a hardware problem then no cause on XP my laptop works fine.

    And it is not that the heating up of my CPU cause while I was checking the temperature which was 46c using speedfan.exe the screen froze, I can still hear the HDD working as well as the fan.

    Another problem which is a minor one is the sleep mode, once the laptop goes to the sleep mode, I can't log on to windows again, I have to force shut down by keep pressing on my power button and if I switch it on again it won't boot, so I will have to unplug my AC cable and plug it in again, then I will have a somehow slow boot but eventually it will work.

    The freezing problem happens sometimes after 30 mins and sometimes after several hours, plz help me

    From the code that you've posted, the system isn't capturing the memory dump files.

    Do you have enough disk space to store a memory dump (equal to the size of your RAM plus about 400 mB)?
    Do you have a paging file on the same disk as the OS, and is it large enough to store the memory dump (the size of your RAM plus about 400mB)?
    Have you checked your settings to make sure that Windows is configured to record memory dumps? People doing memory/crash dump analysis' - Vox
    Have you checked your system to see if it's compatible with Windows 7?

    I have 2gb or ram and now I have 7gb of free space. I set it to capture 128kb dump files and specified the target folder.

    I ran the tool from microsoft and it showed that my system is compatible except the sd card slot, but once I installed win7 I updated the driver and everything seems to be fine.

    The secure able showed this:

    I can't do much about the third feature as my processor doesn't support it, the second one is turned off by my mobo, I can only install bios updates from toshiba's website.
    I went through my bios, nothing there to support the second feature.

    My laptop is Equium A110-252 and it is designed for Xp but it has a "windows vista capable" logo, besides it has all the required updates for vista on their website.

    EDIT:
    I managed to fix the second feature

    Thanx for the tool, I will try it and wait for the OS to crash, I guess.

    EDIT:
    I used the tool and after 5 mins, crashed again but no dump file.

    This is really frustrating.

    I know mate, I was shocked myself.
    After one week of experimenting, it came down to two things, adobe flash player and google chrome.
    I used Firefox 3.5 + adobe flash player and nothing happened till this day, it's been more than 3 days without freezing :)

    p.s. The sleeping problem was because of the copy of win7 I installed, I guess it was corrupted or missing some files, and now no more sleeping problems.
    Awaking my laptop takes seconds, I am so glad it worked out finally as I love win7.
