BSOD IRQL Not Less or Equal, AFD.sys, Page fault in non paged area,
XPS 710
Originally was running Windows XP MEdia Center. Upgraded to Win7 64 in 2009 Recent changes Replaced original TV internal Tuner with Hauppaugel WinTV-HVR-2250 Also Changed out 2 sticks of 1G DDR2 667, with 2 sticks of 2G DDR2 667 ( now running 8G memory Processor is 2.66 Quad Updated SB XFI drivers I did not have BSOD when I updated the SB driver, but the sound got really scratchy. So I reverted back to my old driver. Somehow though I wonder if this is the start of everything I am no longer able to get Device manager to open. It gives the error Class not Registered. All help appreciated |

All help appreciated We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible. You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking. To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure: Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy. * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button. *If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply. To ensure minidumps are enabled: Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button. * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked. * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies). * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump. * OK your way out. * Reboot if changes have been made. |

Crashed but did not leave a minidump. Should I be able to find it under C:\windows\Minidump ? I am checking settings and seeing if it will leave one when it dumps again.

Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal BSOD followed by Page Fault in Non-Paged Lately I've been having all the games on my computer crash within about 2-3 minutes of starting them, and sometimes I get a Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal BSOD in place of a crash. I had two of these BSOD's last week, and all of them seem to be followed by a Page Fault in Non-Paged Area BSOD. I've... |
