Classpnp.sys, black screen during startup repair and boot

Hi I have 3 years old Toshiba L300-D.
1 year back I upgraded vista to windows 7 Home premium.
3 days back I had problem - my starting windows page was hanged and was not proceeding forward, also All types of safe mode was getting stuck on classpnp.sys.
After reading many forums I booted with USB (mounted with windows 7) and used command prompt and deleted all "pcmcia" realted files from C drive. Now using F8 function
I can't use any option (all option safe mode, low resolution, startup repair, etc won't work, even changes in Bios setting won't work). Also now while booting my PC with USB, after starting windows page, black screen appears with white arrow and it won't go further this black screen so now I can't even use command prompt & Installation option .
Now I don't know what to do
Any help will be appreciated :)

Have you tried any other boot utilities? You can backup your info and format the drive using PartedMagic. You can download the boot CD using the Downloads link under Navigation on the left pane of the page. That may allow you to boot the Windows Installation.

Another trick that sometimes allows bootable media to work is to turn off the computer, remove the AC adapter, remove the battery, and hold the power button down for thirty seconds to reset the BIOS software to hardware connections. This also cleans up any temporary memory corruption that can cause boot media to fail due to it not being able to write to the memory properly.

You could also clear the CMOS and see if that allows you to boot.

    Thanks for your reply...
Finally I got entry through safe mode with command prompt using F5 & F8 after booting with USB.
But I had only 1 option for Installation...that was custom installation....... Now I have re-installed windows 7 but my all personal documents got formatted...
Is there any way I can recover my personal files after Custom Re-installation of windows 7 ????

You will most likely not be able to recover all of your files, but you should be able to recover most. Do as little as possible between now and then (do not install updates or programs or anything and do not restart your computer if you can help it and do not surf the internet). Use Free Format Recovery Software | Recover files after format free | iCare Format Recovery Free if you want a free program. Many users on this forum also recommend: Data Recovery Software Products - Runtime Software Products, which will probably recover more data than the free icare program.

Use one or the other program I have supplied, do not try both. The less you download or install, the more data your can recover.

I think I have a problem with Hard disk..I used speedfan program & found that my 120 Toshiba hard drive has 2047 bad sectors and I need to replace it soon.. I have already backed my documents.....I found 1 program which regenerates bad sector----HDD Regenerator.. I used this program and scanned my laptop for 5 days and it detected 3600 bad sectors and regenerated only 420 sectors....In 5 days it completed only 60% scan :-o I got bored of that scan & stopped it after 5 days.......Windows keep giving me warning after every 5 min to replace my hard disk as it is in bad condition...Now waiting for my Hard drive to die 1 day......Do u guys have any solution for bad sectors in Hard disk.....I have also tried low level formatting using Dban program (using fast format method) but it didn't helped me.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the drive is mechanically failing and the head is clobbering sectors as it moves from time to time. Setting aside bad sectors will only work until the disk runs out of spare sectors to allocate space to, at which point your disk will fail. See NTFS.com HARD DRIVES. Hard Disk Drive Basics. to see how a hard disk is mechanically set up.

In short, no program is going to fix your hard disk for it to work better. The only option you really have is to replace it or spend ~$300-$1000 to have it repaired by a hard disk manufacturer. If the disk is less than three years old, it may still be under warranty and you could RMA it and get a replacement at little expense.
