I decided to try the driver verifier. Here is the blue screen and minidump update.

Verified and Related to stwrt64.sys IDT Audio from IDT, Inc. Yours is from 2008. I would update it or remove it if possible

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
    - - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
    - - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Well I had it removed and now it seems to have reinstalled itself.. I did just reinstall a different NVIDIA driver. Still getting the "Nvidia driver has stopped responding and has recovered"

I tried updating the driver since it seems necessary. I now have the version from 3/23/2010. I guess I'll try running driver verifier again.

Something is even more wrong now. My sound gets distorted sometimes like its slowing down. It also seems to lock up more. I'm going to do a system restore to earlier today..

You will restore the problem as well.

At some point you may want to start considering doing a clean install.

Now the sound quality is way weird, sounds like its almost distant, not projecting at all. Basically the audio sounds like its playing inside the computer only.

As far as the clean install.. I think my boyfriend said he has tried that before. I'll have to ask.

Edit: Just updated the driver again and the sound is okay again.

Wondering about my previous BSODs. Did the dmps suggest anything in particular? Right now, I'm thinking it's either the NVIDIA card went bad or something with the motherboard.
    Thanks for your time.

It hasn't crashed in 24 hours... I don't want to get excited because once before it went a long time, too, but.... This is the longest it's gone. I'm hopeful =) Thanks for your help.
