    Multiple BSODs and freezing

Running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
    NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT.
    4g ram.
    INTEL core 2 duo
    Laptop

Been having random BSODs, along with "Display Driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver has stopped responding" error, and freezing. The strange thing is that I don't get any of these issues while in game (League of Legends). ONCE it BSODd while in game, but that was once out of MANY times over the past month. When it freezes, it usually makes a loud noise like a cross between buzzing and beeping, that may vary in pitch. I then have to power off. I have attached the BSOD file and system health report.

I thought it was the RAM, so I put in the RAM from my laptop (the one with the problems I've been talking of is my boyfriends) and it has still frozen up since I've done that. So it is not the RAM, although it's only frozen so far and hasn't BSOD'd since then. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling new drivers, including beta drivers, which have not worked any better.

    Thanks for any help.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

    If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

    The procedure:
    * Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
    * Zip up the copy.
    * Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

    To ensure minidumps are enabled:
    * Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
    * Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
    * Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
    * Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
    * Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
    * OK your way out.
    * Reboot if changes have been made.

Was that the right thing? I copied the minidump folder and uploaded it.

Please remove any CD visualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%.

They use a driver, found in your dmp, called sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs.

Use this SPTD uninstaller DuplexSecure - Downloads DuplexSecure - FAQ

when you're done you can use this Freeware:

MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM (MagicDisc) in its place

Using MagicISO to create ISO image files

Still getting the Nvidia error and freezes, any idea on whats causing those? Maybe the graphics card is just giving out. They only occur before I get in game, then it never freezes.

    did you remove sptd.sys?

What errors are logged in event viewer?

To check for freezing/crashing you need to do the following:

    Event viewer.
Type eventvwr in search and go to the windows log>application tab.
Look for errors that have red in the left hand column that say app hang, or app crash, or anything relating to the CURRENT problem.
When you find any make a screenshot and upload them to us.

What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

    Yes I removed it.

Here are some errors I received. The most common faulting module is ntdll.dll which caused my game client and messenger errors.

Just got another blue screen, Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area

Also tried sfc /scannow and got this..

Followed a guide on these forums to find the corrupt files, and it was Windows Media Player.

"Cannot repair member file [l:22{11}]"DMR_120.png" of Microsoft-Windows-MediaPlayer-Core, Version = 6.1.7601.17514, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_IA32_ON_WIN64 (10), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type neutral, TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, file is missing"

I guess I'll just uninstall it, because I don't need it. But I doubt that's the problem here.

Earlier I was trying to update the BIOS, it was the same version but had a new date so I thought I'd try it. When installing, and as it asked me if it was okay to flash the bios, the fan started getting louder and louder and caused a BSOD.
