Frequent BSoD, random error messages.

Your BIOS is a little different than what I'm used to...Doing further research into your RAM brought this up

"I purchased this memory before being 100% sure it would be compatible with my new MSI motherboard. Consequently, my computer experiences 'freezing' often (my bad). The problem seems to be that these modules are designed specifically for Intel CPU's/motherboards and not AMD. I have checked the website specs for a few AMD motherboard manufacturers which seem to support this idea. None of them list PNY as compatible memory for their boards. I have since purchased a set of Kingston modules that will work. I hope this will help those who are considering this memory. so maybe it was less than 1.2?

I would check the manual of your motherboard for determining the voltage.

Edit: Did you change the DRAM voltage or a different voltage?

I changed the dram voltage, uh about the manual...its on the driver disc in a pdf, and its entirely in chinese.

It's a learning experience. It is a very good idea to do thorough research into your motherboard/motherboard type before buying components to make sure those components are compatible. Since your memory is new, can you possibly return it to the store where you bought it?

Amazon will take anything back. You'll probably have to pay for the shipping since it was the mistake of the buyer and not defective merchandise. You can see if the person who bought it can get Amazon to pay for it. I'm not sure what Amazon's policy is on gifts; they may be more lenient since the gift buyer does not necessarily know the purchase is the wrong product when it comes to computer components.

If you go the route of asking the person who bought the gift to return it, suggest that they talk to Amazon directly and not go through the website return links. An Amazon representative can do more for fairly returning items than an automated web system can.

I've learned many things here, like not trusting others to do my computer shopping or to atleast proof their work.
Comforted that maybe my gamepad isnt the problem and that its just the ram (oh god please).

I feel it may be optimistic to mark this as solved, but after all the time spent on this, I certainly hope that it is.

I'm glad I was able to provide some comfort. I would hold off on marking the thread as solved until after you replace the memory and indeed find that was the full solution and not just a partial solution. I do think your memory is a contributing factor, and I also wish you well in that it is the only factor and your gamepad will run fine once the memory is replaced.
