Surprisingly, I got errors in Memtest86+ with the two modules (2x4GB) installed in my RAM slots. Does this direct to the problem right away?
What are the errors and how many?

    Oops I forgot to take a picture of them but I remembered that there were 8 lines. I think they were all "Pass 5" and were numbered 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 , 6, 7, 8.

Probably is ram. Try one stick at a time.

Ok, will do. Problems with RAM slots are very rare, right?

I've run Memtest86+ 4.20 and found errors while testing the 2 modules simultaneously. Now I'm testing the modules individually. I'm done testing RAM1, 8 passes with no errors on slot 1 and 7 passes with no errors in slot 2. I'm currently testing RAM2 on slot 1.

I did notice some weird behavior though. When one module is installed, in slot 1, the CAS reported by Memtest86+ 4.2 is 9-9-9-27 and when one module is installed, in slot 2, it is 6-6-6-20. Why the difference?

Ram slots (mobo) is less frequently the cause but I have seen it in abt 20% of the time.

The CAS may be showing a slight difference in voltage? Unsure.

Weird. I have to try the other two slots (I have four) after this Memtest86+ test.

Is it also possible that each module will pass Memtest86+ for 7 passes individually but will not pass (with errors) when working together in dual channel mode? If that's the case, what is the possible cause and solution for that?

Definitely possible that individually they will pass, just as it is possible that they will fail when jointly they were fine.

Might mean a mobo slot, voltage, etc. Is all the ram from a single package?

    Yes, same package, it's a 2x4GB kit.

Now I'm getting a little bit worried. I hope this current test I'm having will fail because that will indicate that one of the sticks is indeed damaged. This is a brand new laptop that I bought from the US internationally (I'm from the Philippines) for crying out loud

    Is it still under warranty?
