BSOD - Hardware issue? Where do I begin?

Hi, long time reader, first time poster.

I've been having some problems with BSODs during boot for a few months now. I re-installed Windows last week in hopes that it might solve the problem to no avail. Yesterday I downloaded and ran some of the tests in UBCD (Memtest86+, Mersenne Prime, DiskCheck, Video Memory Stress Test, and a few others) but none of them found any errors. Still, the BSODs during boot persist.

I'm attaching the BSOD and System Health logs as a zip file. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you!

Note: For some reason, the System Health log says I don't have an antivirus program installed but I do in fact have Avast up and running. Strange....

Yesterday I downloaded and ran some of the tests in UBCS (Memtest86+, Mersenne Prime, DiskCheck, Video Memory Stress Test, and a few others) but none of them found any errors. Still, the BSODs during boot persist.

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps Let us know if you need help STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

BTW I would remove Avast and replace with MSE>

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Thanks very much for the quick reply zigzag3143. I'll be sure to run CPU-Z and GPU-Z and monitor the video temp. I'm guessing it's not a dust build up since I cleaned out the case pretty thoroughly just a few days ago, but I'll hit it with some more air and see if that helps.

I also have MSE installed already. Should I still get rid of Avast?

Never a good idea to have two malware apps and I would remove Avast. Its known to be problematic on some systems.

If you want to add some protection Malwarebytes can be run con currently.

By the way; the Health Report indicating no AV, even with Microsoft WSE, is a known bug.

Alright. Got a new video card from a friend - Zotac GeForce GT 520 (1GB, 64-bit). Now I'm getting a totally new BSOD error. Any idea what might be causing the problem now? I'm attaching the new BSOD dump files and system health report.

    Thanks and Happy New Year!

Sorry, here's where I'm a bit of a noob. Where do I find this and how do I remove? Is it a simple find and delete or an uninstall?
