BSOD after 30-40 minutes; kdcom.dll was mentioned on the BSOD

I had a spyware attack in which I went off to safe mode and did scans using SpyBot: Search and Destroy and MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware. After rebooting back into normal mode, my computer would crash every 30 to 40 minutes, sometimes less. I cannot quite figure out what the problem is exactly... What is worse is that I ran 'sfc /scannow' and the results came back with no integrity violations. This forum is pretty much my last hope.

My computer has Windows7 Enterprise SP1 64bit installed. The computer is about a year old as well. I could not run the BSOD Dump and System File Collection application while in normal mode, but was able to run it in Safe Mode due to the problems described above. The problem is not reproducible in Safe Mode, so I fear that the results of the BSOD Dump and System File Collection may not be too helpful. The dump files should be good though. The performance report log was done in Normal Mode however.

Another concerning problem is that I cannot install Microsoft's Debugging Tools for reasons unknown; the installer would never finish properly. Another interesting symptom is that the boot up times are relatively long. Thank you everyone and anyone in advance~!

My usual disclaimer: I'm not an expert in anything. :)

The kdcom.dll is a Kernel Debugger module and a necessary component of Windows 7. It might have been damaged or corrupted in some way. Did you run the SFC in safe mode? If not, I'd suggest giving it a try. If it finds any errors run it 3 times rebooting in between each scan.

Have you run any rootkit scans? You could try Norton Power Eraser but be careful. It could flag and quarantine a legitimate program. Also Hitman Pro.

Yes, I did ran SFC in Safe Mode since it was the only mode that Windows would last long enough before BSOD-ing. I did recall using the Power Eraser but that was not helpful. I will try out the Hitman Pro 3 though.

Okay, I finished running Hitman Pro 3 and received no threats found. I was wondering if anyone has tried to open the dump files that was attached to the first post. I really cannot explain why the BSOD happens. :/

"Windows Memory Diagnostic" also detected no errors.

This computer may be a candidate for a repair install if you have access to the install media. I went through the dump file but nothing stood out as the reason for the issues you're having.

Okay, I am not sure how I suspected it, but I ran TDSSKiller.exe from KasperSky Labs which did find something. gmer was also able to find a strange file called Temp:winupd.exe in which I had to use "AlternateStreamView.exe" to delete the file. I am now running OTL.exe in hopes of finding any other strange files.

That's the problem with malware. There's no product (that I know of) that's 100% effective 100% of the time. Half a dozen different product scans can come back clean but the 7th finds something. Hope this solves your issues.
