Did you remove the Symantec program using the steps outlined in Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - How to uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 client from Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 2008 32 and 64-bit operating systems manually?
I'll see if I can narrow down when that driver showed up on your system.
The driver showed up between January 2nd and January 5th. Any idea what it might be? If not, it may be malware or a virus. PC Safe Doctor sound familiar?

I installed Symantec on 12/29, so I'm hesitant to think the driver was included in that installation.
The only things installed between 1/2 and 1/5 were:
-F.lux
-Microsoft Visual C++ software
-Juniper Networks Network Connect (university remote printing software)
No, I've never heard of PC Safe Doctor; it's not installed on my system, either.

What is F.lux? Is that the monitor control software?
One option you have is to go into C:\Windows\system32\Drivers and rename C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\mchInjDrv.sys to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\mchInjDrv.sys.bak and see which program complains afterward.
Did you determine what was causing your crashes?

Yes, F.lux is the monitor software.
The culprit seems to have been the Synaptics Endpoint driver. I uninstalled it and haven't had a BSOD since. Of course, that meant losing certain touchpad functions (like the drag/scroll), but it's not something I can't deal with if it means my system's stable.

It could just be that the Synaptics driver was corrupted or out of date. You could try re-installing it and seeing if the crashes return; they may not if it was just a corrupted driver. I would recommend creating a restore point first so if it does cause crashes, you can revert back to the restore point.
