    BSOD - BCCode 7f


    Sorry I know my title isn't ideal, but I'm not sure what code I'm looking for. I followed the stickied thread though.

    Windows 7 64 bit - Retail. Installed it three months ago.
    Motherboard, PSU, Ram, CPU/APU three months old. Hardrive much older.

    May be related to the age of LogMeIn. Install the latest version. Also update the other drivers listed below. Use Driver Reference Table - sysnative.com - MVP,

    Run the boot version of Memtest86+ paying close attention to Parts 2 and 3 of the tutorial. Also, in case Memtest86+ misses anything and comes up with no errors, run the extended version of the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool for at least five passes. These you may want to run overnight since they take a long time to complete (run them an hour before bed each of the next two nights and check before going to sleep that they are still running).

    Thanks for the response. So I updated the drivers ran Memtest but was still having problems, so I reinstalled Windows but the Blue Screens continue. I can't seem to find a pattern to the crashes. Sometimes its 2 in an hour, sometimes it's fine for a couple days. I've attached the most recent crash reports.

    Possible causes are faulty or mismatched hardware, and usually memory. However, I notice that your wireless device is a USB adapter. Do you have another method to connect to the internet to determine if the USB wireless adapter is the cause?

    usasma, one of the most experienced users on here, has a number of posts letting users know that USB wireless devices are known to cause problems and recommends replacing with a PCI card to add stability and proper power support for the wireless device.



    Please remove Daemon Tools, as it uses a driver called dtsoftbus01.sys that is known to cause BSODs.

    I prefer TotalMounter as my CD/DVD virtualization software as it allows me to burn images to a virtual CD/DVD if I just want an ISO file instead of a disc, and it is free.

    Many use MagicISO - Convert BIN to ISO, Create, Edit, Burn, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter/extractor/editor as well, which is also free.

    Thanks again for the replies. After much testing and patience, and writhziden's help I'm pretty sure I figured out what the problem was. My Alfa AWUS036H USB wireless adapter. I still had issues after uninstalling Daemon Tools, but I went a solid 3 days without a bsod after uninstalling/disabling my USB wireless card.

    On a side note I've recently installed Windows 8 Consumer Build and its been rock stable on my computer. Using the USB adapter I get no bsod's. No Problems at all actually, and I find it more snappy than Windows 7. I'm dual booting with Windows 7 but I've actually been using Windows 8 as my main operating system.

    Once again thanks for helping me troubleshoot my bsod and saving me money.
