    Since you are worried about the power supply of the apartment, do you use a surge protector? Also, have you asked management to make sure the power is within acceptable limits? Most apartment maintenance crews have equipment to test power and make sure it is safe for the residents.

    Yes I do use a surge protector and I have been thinking about getting a power conditioner for my musical instruments since i play live. Maybe plugging into that might help.

    Let us know if a conditioner helps. I still think if you have concerns, your maintenance staff for your apartment should check your electrical system.

    It is possible, though far fetched, that the electricity is unstable. I have seen issues, here in Florida, where contractors used copper plated aluminum core romex to save money. Have you checked the mobo for bulging or leaking caps?
