Help with Windows 7 not booting up a letter "J"

Yesterday I was just trying to win 7 botear a starter to format my usb my netbook but I Nose happened and blue screen appeared Nose xx80 that was more and restart the WinToFlash boteando .. after that when you turn the PC starts but before leaving the logo remains on the part of the bios and see a J and then not passed as Nose Hopefully I can help fix that and also whether the program was wrong to use such pot

I'm finding it difficult to understand what you are trying to say, which makes offering a solution even more difficult.

I turn on my computer when I do not load windows is a black screen with a J
and does not start windows, how I can fix that?

hi i have the exact same problem as the erm not so english speaking guy!

firstly i have a asus desktop pc
cpu 3ghz
ram 2gig
hdd 320 gig

the problem:
basically i have used wintoflash to install windows xp and windows 7 both worked but when i use wintoflash to create my windows 8 bootable usb the pc goes through the post screens and then when it comes to start booting from usb to install windows 8 the screen is black with the letter "J" and flashing cursor in the top left corner of the screen?????
i left it running for over an hour as i heard that the windows 8 preview beta can take some time to load setup files but no joy! if you could help me with my problem i would be very greatfull!

oh and the system has no operating system on it!! so it is a clean install

Hi! I'm facing the same issue. Today I was trying to make a bootable Windows 7 USB using WinToFlash. The application requested the source (location of OS) and target (USB drive) which I furnished.

The application then proceeded to copy the data onto the USB drive and on completion the system restarted but did not boot up - only the letter 'J' is flashed on the top left of the black screen. Nothing happens beyond this point.

- I've tried restarting a multiple times but the same result.
- I've tried booting from the DVD drive by making use of the Windows installtion disks but the setup fails of recognize any Windows installation or even the harddisk.

Could you please help? Should I try to intalled a driver so Windows setup can recognize the harddisk?

My configuration is as under-

HP ProBook 4420s
Windows 7 (installed from a DVD)

The first thing to check is whether the hard disk is physically connected to the motherboard properly. To do so:

• Shut down and turn off the computer
• Remove the AC Adapter
• Remove the battery
• Hold down the power button for 15-30 seconds to close the circuit and drain any residual power
• Remove the panel on the underside of the laptop where the hard disk is housed
• Remove and re-insert the hard disk by sliding it away from the connector and then gently but firmly pressing it back into the connector (no screws should need to be removed to do this step)
• Replace the panel on the underside of the laptop to cover the hard disk
• Replace the battery
• Replace the AC Adapter
• Turn on the computer and see how it responds

Post back once these steps have been implemented whether the system is bootable.

I've implemented all the steps apart from the remove/reinsert the harddisk panel & harddisk and the result is the same. This being a business laptop (ProBook) there are no panels on the underside, infact no vents aswell. Also, as the laptop is only 2 months old I'm a bit apprehensive as the warranty is still on.

I've run the Memory and Harddisk test from the BIOS setup and both these tests pass.

Is there anything else that can be tried? Please advice. Appreciate your help!
