Try running SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors.

If it comes up with no integrity violations on the first try, the system is fine and you should try the steps to Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup as suggested earlier.

If SFC /SCANNOW comes back with errors after the fourth try, you will need to follow the steps in OPTION THREE of the SFC tutorial to manually replace the corrupted system files using the tip therein.

Usually games seem to install them and I'd say you're missing a couple but that's only for 2005, the SP1 and a fix
Now could it harm if I downloaded them and install them myself

As long as you install them and install their updates, they should help games install and run smoother.

It can help. Not all games include the components needed, which is why a lot of users on here end up with sidebyside errors in their application logs.

Well I guess the first next time I'll install those alongside DX9 which I always install one of the first things
Can't think of any other game-related installations
