    event viewer

when I try to run the evenlog I get the following Event Log service is unavailable. Varify that the service is running. In the services pannel it is listed as running. However it is not. I have tried system restor but same issue. I don't know if it could be turned off in the registry or just what would cause this. I think the registry was modified and for some reason I have noticed certain registry entrys don't always get restored if you use system restore . Can someone help me maybe the great Brink I hear about. I see many other people are having this issue but no one has a fix so far. Thanks

oh come on guys there has to be something other than that. I have a ssd drive that widows is on and a 1terrabite for my programs which means a lot of reinstalling and forcing some of them to istall on that drive. Its not like Windows 98 Windows 7 never askes for a directory. Thanks. Seems like there would be a fix do you no where the event log is located in the registry maybe it is shut down there.

You can remove that just make sure you leave the driver intact. Or remove it all and re-install just the driver. CCC is known to cause all sorts of problems.
