Sounds like a good start.
Ops! Mgorman posted while I was trying to find the link to Memtest.
Sounds like a good start.
Memtest 86+ ran overnight no errors found. i have used memok button a few months ago to change frequency of RAM to get it to boot but that was with my old ram set wondering if thats causing an issue ill admit to not knowing what i was doing with that. any other ideas appreciated. also how would i get rid of the AODdriver cant seem to find it anywhere
UPDATE: ive found an active process and file in windows folder DOADx.exe through task manager (has a 'barcode' thumbnail) seems to be part of overdrive utility or perhaps part of realtek gigabit ethernet controller package
DAODx.exe Windows process - What is it?
I installed the realtek optionally through windows update in error (if its the ethernet controller driver listed in programs - control panel) as im not using ethernet to connect to the net nor do i intend to can this file and process be removed safely or do i need this realtek ethernet package.
UPDATE: seems DAODx.exe could also be linked to TURBOV EVO or EPU utilities that came with motherboard ill remove them
removed utilities that came with motherboard one overclocks the cpu and the other controls fan speeds both akin to the overdrive program. DOADx file still remains in windows folder and process still runs. dunno whether to remove realtek or not. computer has worked fine for about 36 hours now with no bluescreen

Un-install any Asus utilities, these are known to cause crashes.
Just leave the realtek driver installed.
If you're not getting any more crashes, use your system normally and post if you get any issues.
If you get any more crashes we can take a look at your CPU and RAM settings.
D/L CPUZ and post a snip of the CPU, Mainboard, Memory, and SPD tabs.
For posting the information , enter 'Snipping tool' in the Start button > Search box, hit enter. Select the area you want to post and save to a convenient place.

Have you been checking your temperatures?
Use Core Temp, to check the CPU temps when at idle, under load and/or testing.
Let us know the minimum and maximum temps you get.
Go to your BIOS and tell us what the CPU, RAM and the CPU integrated memory controller voltages are.

running core temp today. here are cpu pics im having trouble finding voltages in bios. thanks for the reply :)
Please post them so we can all see them.

The voltages are in AI Tweaker,
CPU Offset Voltage
CPU/NB Offset Voltage
DRAM Voltage
Are the DRAM Frequencies set to 'Auto' or entered in 'Manual'?
all are set to auto here are values
CPU offset : 1.356v
CPU NB offset: 1.175v
RAM : doesnt give specific voltage like the other too only info i can see is to the right in the menu panel
min: 1.20000v
max: 2.20000v
interval: 0.00625v
standard:1.50000v
sorry about the pics :s
When you have more than 4GB RAM installed you may need to bump the CPU IMC (Integrated Memory Controller) voltage +0.10v.
Set the CPU/NB voltage to 'Manual' and 1.275v.
If you set the DRAM voltage to 'Manual' it should give you the current voltage, which looks like it's 1.50v.
Let us know what it is set at and leave it there for now, might need a bump later if your RAM is not stable.
What temps did CoreTemp give you at idle?
Attachment 196949 Attachment 196910
26c idle 41c load.
cpu/nb voltage changed to 1.275v
had 2 crashes before i changed it
thanks

still crashing BAD_POOL_HEADER crashed twice in safe mode with networking
Temps and RAM settings look good.
Can you uninstall the Asus utilities, all their drivers are still showing in your driver list.
These are known to cause crashes, remove them so we can rule that out as a cause.
These are programs from Asus, for example AMD OverDrive Utility.
Have you ran Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 as suggested by mgorman87 in post #19.
When running the Torture Test - Blend, First open CoreTemp to monitor CPU temperatures, don't go over 75°C.
Open Prime95 and stop the test if it is running, in Advanced tab select 'Round off checking', in the Options tab select 'Torture Test...', in the window that opens select 'Blend', after 'Number of torture test threads to run' enter 4, then click OK to start the test.
Temps permitting run for 2-3 hours.
*Note: Couldn't find the AMD Phenom II X4 960T CPU on the AMD processor site, must be discontinued.
If Prime95 passes then enable Driver Verifier as recommended by mgorman87 in post #14.
Please enable driver verifier
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
This should point out drivers that are causing the crashes.
Let us know the results.
Your latest crashes are inconclusive.
