BSOD(s) with a new sound card
I got a new sound card yesterday, installed new drivers and started getting BSODs multiple times everyday. I tried reinstalling the drivers and replugging everything, but it won't help(didn't really expect it to). Also, my microphone isn't working.. Before a BSOD I either get random, colored lines and dots on my screen and the sound lags up, OR the sound only lags and then I get the BSOD, which says something like "if the problem persists, try reinstalling the drivers or ask the manufactuerer for extra software", basically saying that its the new sound cards/drivers fault.. I'm writing with my sounds off now, and my PC seems to be working well for a few hours now. When I play a game/listen to music/youtube, it crashes.
I have Windows 7 32bit OEM. My hardware ages vary: basically everything is about 3-4 years old except my video/sound cards. I have reinstalled Windows around a year ago last time.
Also.. if you know how to fix the mic problem tell me too, I've tried everything..
