Windows Login hang time, BlackSOD after login
This is quite a confusing story, and the cause for it simply eludes me, but this will be the second time it has happened.
Basically, I was on Youtube through Google Chrome. Shockwave Flash crashed on me (and it is well known that Flash will often crash on Chrome), and when Chrome said I should end the process, I did. To attempt to restart Flash, I exited Chrome and clicked on it again to reopen it. It failed to come up. And so begins my real problem.
I try to open Task Manager through CTRL + Shift + ESC; fails to come up. I try CTRL + ALT + DEL as well; fails to come up. The computer begins to lag like crazy. I can't click on anything without having to wait for at least 5 minutes. I did try patience though, and the menus eventually came up, but still, movement was futile. My plan was to go in and hopefully find the process that was potentially lagging my pc. The strangest thing was that the CPU Usage was fine and barely went above 10-11%, and the Physical Memory was at 21%. So what could be affecting it and making it so slow if the processes are fine?
I then decided to restart my computer. It loaded the windows loading screen fine, but that first time the windows login screen took nearly 10 minutes to come up. When it finally did, I tried to login, it would take me to a black screen with just the mouse pointer in the dead center and nothing else within sight. The mouse was moveable, but there was nothing to click on.
I've tried a variety of solutions, from going into BIOS and trying to change my SATA controllers (if it had something to do with the HD), unplugging all unnecessary USBs, going into Safe Mode and changing startup processes, system recovery to a few days before, scanning system files for anything corrupted, trying to make a new user profile, so on and so forth. NOTHING.
My computer is currently "logged in" but is stuck in a sea of black. I can't bring up Task Manager, I can't bring up Command. I can't do anything except restart my computer and go right back to square one. I honestly don't know what else to do (other than re-install windows, and that's what I did the first time it happened), so I hope someone can provide some sort of help!
Again, I just can't understand how a plug-in crash in a browser (which can happen fairly often), has affected my computer to such a state, TWICE.
