This is for software/hardware vendors to receive the error reports for their programs so unfortunately isn't any use to me as an end user. I don't understand how a program can suddenly stop working and doesn't record why it stopped so i can try to fix it.

See if creating a new user resolves the problem. It may be that your user profile is corrupted and contributing to the crashes.

You're a genius! I created a new user and syncup worked. Is there anyway to "reset" the settings on my current user so that I don't have to transfer all my files and settings to the new user account?

Unfortunately, no. But if you follow Fix a corrupted user profile, this should provide your new users with the old user's settings and files.
